Inside cover

Here is the inside cover of my album design:
I have used the same image as my poster which once again adds continuity to the project. However, I chose to present this image in black and white as it adds a new dimension to a familiar image. I have included minimal information such as band members and where the EP was recorded. This lack of text emphasises the impact of the image.
Album design

Here is the design of my back cover:
The colour scheme is consistent with the rest of the ancilleries which gives the whole project a sense of continuity. The font used contrasts with the black background and sticks with the red and black theme of the other ancilleries. I used a circus font which suggests a playful nature in the music. It has connotations of clowns which are a common fear for a lot of people, which suggests that despite the music being fun it also has a dark undertone running through it.
The image of the lightbulb was taken from my main task which once again adds continuity between my tasks. I chose to use the image of the lightbulb because it is very bright and I feel it creates a good juxtaposition between light and dark. However, to start with there was some invasive glare from the lightbulb which encroached too much on the rest of the design so i altered the brightness and heightened the contrast in order to get rid of it. This gave the image a gritty effect which suits the style of music well.
I researched the kind of information that is found on a back cover and took the copyright and licensing information format from an actual roadrunner record which will make the cover look authentic.
Poster design

Here is the final design for my poster:
I have used features from boxing posters such as the bold lined heading and the details at the bottom of the page. This ties in with the thematic image of the picture which is a reference to the band name.
I blurred the edges of the image and used a grain effect to create the feeling of looking through a window at the image. I adjusted the brightness and contrast to make it vivd and really stand out against the background. This is an effective aspect of the poster as it would catch the eye of someone seeing it and make them much more likely to read it and take in the information.
The poster is quite simplistic in its design, only including the necessary information and not much more. I feel this creates a striking effect that wouldnt be achieved were it too cluttered and busy. It also makes it far easier to quickly read all the information about the album, which is an important aspect of a poster.
I also included an image of the front cover so that people would recognise the cover if they see it on a shop shelf.
I chose to produce the poster in A3 size as this would be big enough to be read from a distance.

Back cover idea
My idea for the back cover of my digipak is to have some vivid red boxing gloves against a black background. Above this in a white font will be the track names.
This is a similar colour scheme to the front cover and I feel it will give the digipak an identifiable look. The red and black will contrast and be very eye catching, with the white font over the top contrasting against the black and making the track names easy to read.
